Dear Module 2 Astro-Bio Colleagues--

We would like to announce the second of the Module 2 meetings aimed at
stimulating broad-ranging discussion of topics central to ongoing research
in star and planet formation. To ensure that we come to grips with key issues,
we have arranged an off-campus meeting site and set aside a full day
for discussion.

As before, the meeting will be informal; there will be brief introductory
remarks to frame the discussion 'theme' and to suggest a broad outline
of potential discussion topics; the group will shape the ensuing discussion.
To ensure that we talk with one another rather than to a screen,
we propose that the meetings be "powerpoint-free"; words and sketches
on a whiteboard, or xeroxed handouts of critical plots will be our primary
communication modes!

The second of these meetings will be held at the Arizona Inn on February 4
from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Lunch and incidentals will be provided at a cost
of $20 per individual. We will continue our discussion on
Tracing the Planet Formation Process via Observations of Circumstellar Material.
Jane Price will provide additional logistical details in a followup email.

I hope that by investing a day every several months, we will begin
to gain not only an understanding of the breadth of research interests
and talents here in Tucson, but to evolve collaborations that will make
the whole of our efforts much greater than the sum of the individual parts.
